Hailstorms and Demons: Mythologies of Bad Weather

The publication “Hailstorms and Demons: Mythologies of Bad Weather” presents a handmade carpet by Rosie Eisor – a central element in the interior of the exhibition “PSEUDONATURE” in the Bulgarian Pavilion of the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, curated by Iassen Markov.

Made of tufted wool and measuring 270 x 480 cm, the work depicts three Hailstorms – malevolent demons from Balkan folklore, considered rulers of the natural forces. The idea of the carpet as part of the exhibition presents an allegory for the entangled relationship between humanity, artificial intelligence and nature.

Each book is hand-sewn by the artist, making the edition truly special.
